It's amazing what you see in Carcassonne!

We went for a peaceful walk this morning along the banks of the River Aude in Carcassonne. As well as numerous joggers and children on bikes we saw an enclosure with llamas, alpacas and donkeys. This wasn't the sort of thing we were expecting to see, but they were lovely.

Hi Ann!

I found your blog through a Google search for llamas in the Aude . . . and then went on to enjoy reading more.

We've just made the permanent move to the Aude, having had a house here for six years, and we're establishing a llama herd. (our blog about this is at www.longley.fr). You'd be welcome to come over to see them!

By the way, in your second picture, the animal nearest you is an alpaca, rather than a llama (same family, related to camels, but distinct species).

Thanks for the blog!
